In this second event organized by the Haas Sales Club, Michael Lock, Director of North American Sales for Google Enterprise, will provide insight into Google's sales organization and will share with us key learnings from his 20 years of industry experience. Michael will focus on addressing the following topics:

Sales Organization & Strategy
How is Google's sales organization structured?
What does a typical deal lifecycle look like? What Google resources are involved and at what stages of the process?
What are the biggest differences in needs between small/medium and large (Fortune 500) organizations and how does this influence Google's sales strategy and focus?

Presenter Bio:
Michael Lock is a 20 year veteran of the Enterprise Information Technology industry. Michael spent the formative part of his career in the 1980s with IBM. In the 1990s Michael was a sales and marketing executive at Oracle Corporation and then spent the early 2000's with several Silicon Valley startups including video search pioneer Virage. Michael joined Google in 2005 and currently runs the Americas Sales and Operations for Google Enterprise, a rapidly growing business unit focused on bringing Google technologies to corporations, governments and educational institutions.

Michael holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. He was born and raised just outside Toronto and has spent the last 12 years living and working in Silicon Valley. Michael has been married for 15 years to his wife Beverly and has 3 children Jason 12, Rachel 9, Steven 3. Michael is active in Youth sports and can be rightfully characterized as a 'baseball nut'. He coaches Little League and youth softball.

2009 UC Berkeley Energy Symposium
Date: Monday, February 23rd
Time: 8AM-6PM

The third annual UC Berkeley Energy Symposium – "Bold Ideas for a New Energy Landscape" – will explore the cutting edge science, policy and business ideas that will craft the future energy landscape in America. Bringing together world-class researchers from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, energy business leaders, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, policy makers, and students, the Symposium will present a unique and challenging discussion about real, near-term energy solutions.

Volunteers Needed!

We invite you to join the team of volunteers at this year's Energy Symposium on Monday, February 23 at the MLK Student Union. By volunteering for a 4-hour shift between 6am and 7pm, you will gain free admission and lunch.

Some tasks we will need help with include:
• Registration/information desk assistants
• Panel session room assistants
• Parking lot ushers
• Set-up & clean-up
Volunteers must attend an orientation a few days before the Symposium, and will be asked to check in and out before and after your shift.

Energy Alumni Panel & Firm Night

Panelists from the energy sector will discuss their roles, companies and the challenges they are facing. After the panel, attend the firm night where you can meet and interact with company reps in local energy companies.

New Orleans Social Enterprise through IDEACorps

Date: March 21 to March 28
Location: New Orleans

IDEA Corps is asking Haas to send a team of 8 people to New Orleans to solve critical challenges facing entrepreneurs in post-Katrina environment. During the week, the students will work with the entrepreneurs and a professor from Haas to create business solutions. The solutions, if found feasible, will be implemented and create social impact.
