Your EWMBAA Admissions Committee is currently recruiting for student ambassadors to assist with Haas campus tours on Day 2 of the Class of 2012 Orientation. As always, we appreciate the help of you volunteers. There will be a brief teleconference (Time TBA), prior to the orientation. We will also be providing thank you gifts for our tour guides as a token of our appreciation.

Picture yourself among some of the world’s most exotic creatures. Get up close and personal with giraffes, gazelles, zebras and many of the other 600 animals that inhabit Safari West in Santa Rosa. Spend the morning on a three-hour tour, exploring this beautiful 400-acre wildlife preserve, first in an open-air, authentic safari vehicle, then on foot around the inner grounds. Cap off the morning with a BBQ lunch with your fellow Haas alumni.

Hey Haas Alums! We have arranged a happy hour at Sports Basement for all Haas Alumni and their friends! For just $10 per person, you can stop by Sports Basement and get drinks (yes, beer and wine), snacks and a 20% discount on ALL merchandise purchased that evening. If you are a Sports Basement fan, you know how hard it is these days to come by those 20% off coupons. So make sure you take advantage of this event.

The Marcled Foundation has sponsored teams at this year's Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society. These spaces are reserved for Haas students, alumni, and guests who are interested in participating. THIS IS NOT A RACE! The event is an all day/overnight fundraiser/celebration dedicated to cancer research. This event is FAMILY FRIENDLY, with lots of activities for kids. You can join the team even if you only want to attend a small portion of the event.

Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum presents “Innovating at Scale”

Registration/Cost: Pre-registration is $20 per person and is available until Tuesday, August 27th at 5pm. Reserved parking is available for an additional $15 and can be purchased on the event registration page. On-site registration is $30 per person.

Join us for the first Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum of the 2009-2010 season for a look at "Innovating at Scale: Google."

John Hanke (Haas MBA ’96) will be joined by three top innovators at Google who will touch on their experiences developing and launching Google's "Geo" tools (Earth, Maps, etc.). The panelists will challenge common notions of what it takes to launch "early and often" --and successfully-- at a company like Google.

Focusing on goal setting, team size, and management approaches, the panel will probe the dynamics of product development applicable to entrepreneurs. Those with a computer science or engineering background will find the panel particularly relevant.
The program begins at 6:30 PM, with a networking hour with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the Bank of America Forum at the Haas School of Business.
