Announcements:

2008-2009 Cheit Award Recipients

Students recognized the following faculty and graduate student instructors for excellence in teaching at the annual Dean's End-of-the-Year Party Friday.
After some snacking and socializing among staff, faculty, and students, Dean Rich Lyons announced this year's recipients of the Earl F. Cheit Award, named after the school's dean emeritus, who made teaching excellence one of his top priorities. The winners are selected by panels of students based on student nominations.

Evening:
Cheit Award Winner - Johan Walden
Runner-up - Teck Ho

Weekend:
Cheit Award Winner - Gregory La Blanc
Runner-up - Wasim Azhar

GSI:
Shared Award- Bradyn Breon-Drish & Todd Fitch

Bradyn and Todd had almost exactly the same number of votes among respondents. After reading the commentary and getting direct feedback on both GSIs, the committee felt that it is in the best interest of recognizing their excellent performances to divide the award among Bradyn and Todd.
